Terms of use
The deal between you and Confide, in plain language. By creating an account or booking a session, you agree to these terms.
What Confide is — and isn’t
Confide connects you with peer listeners: people who’ve been through hard things themselves, and whom we’ve trained to listen well.
Confide is not therapy, counselling or medical care, and our listeners are not doctors, psychologists or therapists. Nothing a listener says is medical or professional advice.
Confide is not a crisis or emergency service. If you’re in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact iCall (9152987821) or AASRA, or go to your nearest emergency department.
Who can use Confide
- You need to be 18 or older.
- Keep your sign-in secure — you’re responsible for what happens on your account.
- Give us accurate information, so we can match you well and reach you about your sessions.
Booking and paying
Prices are shown in Indian rupees before you pay, and you pay upfront through Razorpay. A session is confirmed once your payment goes through and we’ve sent you a confirmation email.
Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds
- Sessions are non-refundable once confirmed.
- Need to reschedule? Reply to your confirmation email. We’ll try to find another time with your listener, depending on their availability.
- If you miss a session without letting us know, it counts as used.
- If something goes wrong on our side — your payment goes through but the booking doesn’t, your listener can’t make it, or a technical problem on our end stops the session — we’ll rebook you or refund you in full, your choice.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method. Banks usually take 5–7 working days to show them.
During a session
Sessions are private voice calls, and you can switch to text chat. You can join from 10 minutes before your start time.
Please don’t record a session, and don’t share what your listener tells you about their own life. Listeners agree to the same. What you say stays between you and your listener — except where the law requires otherwise, or where someone’s life or safety is at serious risk.
Being decent to each other
- Don’t harass, threaten, abuse or demean anyone, and don’t send sexual content.
- Don’t try to move your listener off Confide or ask for their personal contact details. It protects them, and it protects you.
- A listener can end a session that becomes abusive.
- We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
What we’re responsible for
We vet and train our listeners carefully, and we take it seriously when something goes wrong — please tell us. But listeners share their own experience, not professional advice, and what you do after a conversation is your decision.
We provide Confide as it is, and we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for the session it relates to. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Indian consumer law that can’t be limited.
Your account
You can stop using Confide at any time, and ask us to delete your account — see our privacy policy. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Confide grows. We’ll change the date at the top, and email you about significant changes before they take effect. If you keep using Confide after that, the updated terms apply.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes will be handled by the courts of India.
